Fifty Caliber Institute Newsletter
Issue 1; Volume 5

Update:

The 2010 SHOT Show is over and the FCI staff would like to thank everyone who participated in our fundraiser. The winner of our fundraiser was: Mr. Duke Boutwell, Laurel, MS. We would like to offer our congratulations and thanks to Mr. Boutwell for his support as well as his luck in winning a fine rifle.

Introduction of John Sigler:

John Sigler

As we mentioned in our earlier newsletter, former NRA President John Sigler was formally elected to the Board of Directors of FCI at our Board meeting while at the SHOT Show. John has accepted the position of FCI President and has assumed the role of official spokeman on behalf of the fifty caliber shooting sports and we hope all of our supporters will welcome him too.

New FCI Website:

FCI is in the process of reconstructing our website with the goal to make it much more interactive and current to what is going on in the political world of the firearms industry. We hope to have the website up and running very shortly. As soon as it is, we will send everyone a newsletter to make them aware.

NRA Board of Directors Elections:

Most of you may have already received your NRA issue of America’s 1st Freedom or American Rifleman. If you are a voting member of NRA you will find your ballot inside your magazine to vote for members of the NRA Board of Directors.

The position of holding office as an elected member of the NRA Board of Directors is one of the most important offices in America. The National Rifle Association is the only Civil Rights Organization in America fighting to protect your right as a law abiding gun owner. Your participation in the election process to select those people who will fight for your rights is incredibly important. I view it as important as your vote in a Presidential election. FCI would like to take this opportunity to recommend to you several candidates who are running for election or re-election to the NRA Board of Directors.

Barrett M82A-1 .416/.50 BMG Semi-Auto:

FCI would like to introduce our new fundraising promotion. Our good friend Ronnie Barrett of Barrett Firearms Mfg has graciously donated one of his newly introduced .416 Semi-Auto rifles for us to raise much needed funds. The rifle comes to the winner of this promotion as a .416 caliber rifle in the ever popular M82A-1 configuration, but this rifle has an interchangeable .50 BMG barrel (muzzle brake attached) for those who also prefer the more traditional .50 BMG cartridge. The winner of this drawing will receive both barrels. (If the winner is from California, a fully-compliant M82A1 will be provided.)

This rifle is an absolutely beautiful piece of equipment and any firearms owner would be proud to own one.

As you all know, FCI has to depend on our supporters to provide the funds for us to continue in our role. I’m asking everyone to take the time to go to our website and look at the current fundraiser we are hosting. FCI will be giving this beautiful firearm away to some lucky winner. Once again we have made this drawing very attractive and we continue to need your help and support. Please CLICK HERE and look at our fundraiser. I think you’ll be pleased.
